Salto: Ryoyu Kobayashi closes a triumphal season in style

The Japanese won the last race of the season, filing the 13th success and the 21st podium of the season in individual top-level competitions.

In the first series the twenty-two year old from Hachimantai gave great show to the numerous public of Planica. Taking advantage of idyllic climatic conditions, he expressed himself at maximum potential and landed at 252 m, a new springboard record. This measure allowed him to inflict considerable detachments on his opponents. In the second and third positions were Domen Prevc and Piotr Zyla, 12.2 and 15.4 points respectively. The latter obtained the second best measure of the day, landing at 248 m. In the second act the headwind dropped and it was more difficult to go beyond the HS point (240 m). Markus Eisenbichler, fourth in the middle of the race, went up to 235m and overtook Zyla. Domen Prevc and Kobayashi defended themselves from the German's attempt to recover and occupied the top two podium positions. Today's victory allows the Japanese to conquer the Ski World Cup and the Planica7 prize pool. Thus ended at the foot of the podium Zyla, which preceded Timi Zajc 5th, Dawid Kubacki 6th, Karl Geiger 7th, Johann Andre Forfang 8th, Anze Semenic 9th and Evegeniy Klimov 10th.
