Andreas Wellinger, two-time Olympic champion (on the small trampoline in PyeongChang 2018 and winning gold in the team competition in Sochi 2014), chose the company created by Marcel Hirscher to try to return to play at the highest levels; in recent seasons, the 27-year-old from Ruhpolding has suffered a lot, despite having taken home silver in the Flying World Championships last spring in Vikersund with the German team in the team event. At the end of July, with a 4th place in the Summer Grand Prix in Wisla, the start of the new season and now the adventure with Van Deer. “I wanted to change something after last season and I can say that the tests have shown that the performance of the new material is really excellent. In addition, I immediately felt at ease in the team, here everything works for success ”, the words of Wellinger himself. Pierre Heinrich, Race Director Nordics of Van Deer-Red Bull Sports, had his say on the collaboration with the German champion: “We have the same goal: we want to compete for the top positions in the next winter of the World Cup. We are working hard on this, putting our heart and soul into it ”. For the Austrian brand, the partnership with the DSV pool (the German federation) is already a reality, as CEO Toni Giger explains. "This agreement is a milestone and means that all German jumpers and Nordic combined athletes will now be able to freely choose their equipment".
