The agreement has been signed between the Municipality of Pragelato and Parcolimpico for the concession management of the three “school” springboards in the Piedmontese town. In this way, the requalification work necessary to homologate the plant and consequently organize events and give life to the activity can be started: “The agreement has finally been signed. We had been waiting for this news for months because it was one of the central points of our electoral program - the words of the mayor of Pragelato, Giorgio Merlo, and Claudio Salvai, Councilor for Sport and Tourism - This is the agreement between the Municipality of Pragelato and Parcolimpico which entrusted the school facilities to the Municipality for 10 years.
It is useless to deny that it was a long and complex job that started in the summer of 2019 and that ended with the signing of the contract at the end of March 2021. With this deed, the Municipality of Pragelato will be able to access the resources provided available by Law 65/2012 and invest them for the redevelopment and functionalization of the plant. Interventions that include the area of the 3 minor ski jumpers of the Stadio del Salto, commonly defined as "school trampolines"; the ski lift for the trampolines; adjacent areas where a structure used for services for athletes will be installed.
After the planned works, the ski jumps will be approved for both summer and winter activities and will finally be delivered to the manager and therefore usable both by ski clubs for training and to organize national and international events. Contacts are also underway with the FISI to have the necessary and indispensable support so that a team of jumpers can take off on the territory. On 31 March the agreement was then delivered to SCR (a regional client company) which will have to start the design of the works that had already been highlighted by the FISI homologating technician during the inspection of the plants which took place in the area on 21 May 2019.
Then SCR will have to identify the company to which the executive work is to be contracted out. SCR will shortly send the “master plan” which will highlight the various phases and the deadline by which the systems will be delivered functioning. It is therefore a first step to redevelop the entire area of the jump site as other projects are also being examined by the Piedmont Region.
Projects that will allow us to transform the current area into an area that can also be used for recreational and sporting activities. Interventions, however it may be, that can finally contribute to relaunch Pragelato by consolidating its sporting and tourist vocation and at the same time recovering an Olympic legacy that has unfortunately been neglected for too many years ".
