Oberstdorf 2021: the Norwegian federation announced the positivity to Covid of the number 1 of the jump, it is not yet known if the entire team will have to end up in quarantine.

The announcement is sensational and concerns the most anticipated man for the large hill jumping competition. Halvor Egner Granerud tested positive on a rapid test, with confirmation coming from a further PCR test a few hours later.
The big favorite for Friday's race is out of the world championships in Oberstdorf: the Norwegian federation made the news official in the morning, waiting to understand if the whole team, or if only some components, will have to end up in quarantine. Certainly, Granerud will have to give up tomorrow's qualification and therefore the last two appointments with the medals, between Friday with the individual race and Saturday with the team test.
“I am very sad, fortunately I have only mild symptoms”, Granerud's words, while the father explained to NRK that the positivity was confirmed by a second test. With the World Cup now in his pocket, it is clear that the ruler of the season risks seeing the last part of the 2020/21 vintage ruined, leaving Oberstdorf with silver in the mixed team event and bitter 4th place in the race on Normal Hill.
