The international federation committee introduced a new format in the 2017-18 season calendar, the "Willingen five", which will take place in the German town from 2 to 4 February. This is a special classification that will be drawn up by adding the qualifying jump scores, which will be held on Friday 2, and the jumps of both individual races. No qualification for the Sunday race is scheduled. At the end of the five jumps, those with the highest score will win a prize of 25,000 euros.
During the conference, there were also confirmations about the proposed changes in the spring and experienced during the Summer Grand Prix. The most burning knot is certainly the abolition of the pre-qualified. In the recent past, the top 10 in the World Cup standings were eligible for competition. The qualifying leap was then interpreted as a workout or deserted for tactical issues, particularly during the Tournee of the 4 trampolines. Now all registered athletes will have to qualify for the race by completing the qualification within the first 50.
The FIS has also confirmed the calendars of the 2017-18 season and published the provisional ones of the Summer Grand Prix 2018 and the 2018-19 winter. The latter will be ratified at the next June congress.
The men's season will take place in Wisla, Poland where from November 17th to 19th is scheduled a team test and an individual. Two weeks later (1-3 December) there will be the debut of the girls who will be engaged in the Lillehammer Triple, three races in three days, two of them on Normal Hill and one on the Large Hill which will be reserved for the best thirty of the general . At the end of the weekend, the top three athletes will receive a prize of 10,000 euros.
