The Val Gardena is the best of the Italian expedition to Sweden, for a useful weekend in view of the start of the World Cup.

An 8th and a 9th place that show good condition, just a few days before the start of the winter season.
Lara Malsiner was the protagonist of a double top ten in the FIS Cup races staged in Falun: the young girl from Val Gardena was the best blue with a test, that of Saturday, which saw her precede the sister Jessica, tenth, and of three Martina Zanitzer, eleventh and again on good levels. The other Italians are more late in the standings, with Martina Ambrosi 18th, Camilla Henni Comazzi 20th, Noelia Vuerich 21st and Asia Marcato 22nd. Russian hat-trick on the podium, with first place going to Irina Avvakumova (234.6 points), followed by Irma Makhinia (211.1 pt) and Aleksandra Kustova (209.6 pt).
Instead, the Azzurri protagonists of the first men's race are classified just outside the first fifteen. Giovanni Bresadola, 20 years old from Trentino belonging to the Army Sports Center, was the best finishing 17th, followed by Alex Insam, 18th, and Francesco Cecon, 19th.
On Sunday, however, race-2 saw Lara Malsiner finishing ninth, with her sister Jessica in eleventh position, Camilla Henni Comazzi 16th, Martina Ambrosi 19th, Asia Marcato 22nd and Noelia Vuerich 23rd. Martina Zanitzer was instead disqualified. Russian dominance is confirmed once again, with the second consecutive hat-trick on the podium. Irina Avvakumova once again climbed to the top step of the podium (238.2 points), followed by Kustova (219.2 points) and Sofia Tikhonova (212.8 points).
Among the men, Giovanni Bresadola closes in fifteenth place (221.4 points), already the best blue the day before, with Alex Insam 19th and Francesco Cecon 27th (the other three Italians, Andrea Campregher, Mattia Galiani and Daniel Moroder), in the race won by the Austrian Maximilian Ortner (244.3 points), followed by the Polish Jan Habdas (243.0) and the other eagle Clemens Aigner (243.0).
