Ryoyu Kobayashi does not forgive: debut with victory for the Japanese superstar in race 1 in Hakuba

The fifth round of the Summer Grand Prix exalts the national team.

Only Japan and only ... Ryoyu Kobayashi, in race 1 of the Hakuba stage for a summer show of the men's jump that saw the debut, immediately winning, of the champion of Hachimantai. On the day of the 200th trial in the history of the plastic festival, it was a Japanese domain as expected, also due to the many absences in the only trip outside Europe, after the races in Wisla, Hinterzarten, Courchevel and Zakopane. Of course, the ace pigliatutto last season would start as a big favorite even in the presence of various Zajc, Kubacki, Geiger, Stoch and company beautiful; already in 2018, Kobayashi overcame the competition on the trampoline, to then take everything in winter. For his first season, the 22-year-old Japanese confirmed the gap already seen in training jumps, winning with 12.8 points over Yukiya Sato (who confirmed himself after Zakopane's 3rd place), author of a sensational 134 meters on the second jump, but rejected by the compatriot who, despite a long pause due to wind and the lowering of the starting pole, showed an evident superiority. Japanese double and ... usually Evgeniy Klimov to take another podium, with 3rd place at over 27 points behind, but just two lengths ahead of Keiichi Sato, 4th. Instead, after the second jump Naoki Nakamura comes down, at the end 7th in front of a good Simon Ammann and overtaken by the Russian in the fight for the yellow bib that remains of Zajc, absent however in Hakuba (as well as the 2nd and 3rd of the ranking of the Summer Grand Prix before the Japanese stage, or Geiger and Kubacki) and now with only 47 points of margin on the same Klimov. Saturday, again at 11.30, race 2 will be staged before the long break that will last for almost the entire month of September.
