Nordic Skiingworld Cup
With the Silvester Tournament archived, with the start of the new year the women's ski jumping World Cup stopped in Japan, in Sapporo, for two competitions on the large trampoline, before moving to Zao (Jpn), where the next week two more races are scheduled, this time on a small trampoline, with the addition of a Team Event.

In Race-1 came the clear success of Katharina Althaus, in her 11th victory in the World Cup. The German, winner of both jumping series, beat Slovenian Ema Klinec by 7.9 pts, with Eva Pinkelnig 3rd at 14 lengths and Silje Opseth at the foot of the podium. Among the blues the best was Jessica Malsiner, 22a, while her sister Lara finished 28a.
Two thirds of the podium were then repeated in Race-2. Klinec and Pinkelnig repeated the previous day's result finishing in second and third place, but the Norwegian Opseth was ahead of all, confirming that she is a specialist in trials on large trampolines. Fourth place of the day for Katharina Althaus, while the blues finished in 22nd and 25th position, with Lara Malsiner confirming that she is more in difficulty on the large trampolines.
The general classification of the World Cup sees Eva Pinkelnig firmly in the lead, leading by 159 lengths over Althaus and 289 over Stroem, with Opsteh 4th at -315. From Friday to Sunday the World Cup will move to Zao (Jpn), for two individual tests on Normal Hill and a Team Event.
