The Austrian champion won qualification for tomorrow's race, from which the new world champion on Large Hill will emerge. Meanwhile Halvor Egner Granerud, absent due to Covid, has mathematically won the crystal ball.

During the day, the FIS announced the recovery of only one race among those scheduled in the RAW Air calendar, canceled due to the restrictions imposed by the Norwegian government. After the World Championships in Oberstdorf, which will end on Sunday with the team event, the Men's Jumping World Cup will take a two-week break, to return to the stage for the grand finale in Planica between 25 and 28 March. Three individual flight competitions are scheduled in Slovenia, one of which makes up for the cancellation of Vikersund, and a team test. Consequently, the World Cup mathematically goes to Granerud, ruler of the season and great favorite for the world championship in Oberstdorf, but stopped due to the positivity at Covid.
Returning to today's test, the best score was that of Stefan Kraft who, with strong wind behind him and starting from a lower shaft than his opponents, reached 127 m. The Austrian thus preceded Johann Andre Forfang by 1.3 points, entered in the race after Granerued's departure, Markus Eisenbichler by 2.7 points and the world champion on small hill, the Polish Piotr Zyla, by 2.8 points.
