The qualification started with a headwind, which then with the passing of the minutes passed behind the jumpers. In certain situations the trampoline was therefore very performing and large sizes arrived. In the end the winner was Yukiya Sato, who had already excelled in training jumps. the Japanese preceded Markus Eisenbichler by 2.8 points. Third place for the Polish Stekala who preceded Daniel Huber and Anti Aalto. Many big names struggled: Stoch finished 19th, Granerud even 44th.
Objective achieved for the Italian team, which led two out of three athletes to Sunday's race. In truth, there are four Azzurri in Zakopane but Francesco Cecon has not yet been eligible for the World Cup and will only be involved in tomorrow's team test. Alex Insam and Giovanni Bresadola made it through the cut, while Daniel Moroder was eliminated as expected. Good jump, probably the best of the season, for Insam who finished 38th. Bresadola finished 47th instead, with an error in the deadlift phase.
Tomorrow at 4.15 pm the first series of the Team Event is scheduled: nine nations present including Italy. On Sunday the individual competition will be staged.
