World Flight Championships - Vikersund
Great performance by the Austrian who stands out in qualifying for tomorrow’s race, when the world title in ski flying will be awarded. The Salzburger, fresh from a second half of February to be framed, is the favorite for gold, but there will be no shortage of opponents. Two good jumps for the Italians Insam and Bresadola, both qualified.

Three years after the last first level race (on the occasion it was the World Cup), the greatest ski fliers return to compete in Vikersund, on the ski jump where in March 2017 Stefan Kraft set the world record (253.5 m) currently in place. And once again the Salzburg champion, undoubtedly the most in-form and continuous athlete on the circuit of the moment, has shown that he has a great feeling with the Norwegian location.
This afternoon, in the qualification for tomorrow's race that will award the world medals of the XXVII edition of the World Ski Flying Championships, he printed a jump of 230 m which allowed him to obtain the best score with 7.4 points of margin over fellow countryman Hayboeck, author of the best measure of the day (233 m). Behind the two red and white here are two Slovenians, with Lanisek third at 10.6 points from Kraft and Domen Prevc, great surprise of the series, fourth at 11.8 points.
Good performance also for Marius Lindvik and Karl Geiger, fifth and sixth respectively, while Ryoyu Kobayashi finished 9th. Further back finished Tande, fresh winner on Sunday in Oslo, and Stoch, both beyond 20th place. Behind the Pole there was an excellent Giovanni Bresadola, who finished 24th with a jump of 202 m. Insam also did well, 31st with 189.5 m., Who had no problems and took off the pass for tomorrow's race (first series starting at 16:30) in a qualification with the cut to 40 and only 45 members.
