Predazzo and the entire community of Val di Fiemme, but not only, clung to Matteo Antico, the unfortunate former jumper who, just last summer in the skies around his house, suffered a very serious paragliding accident.
"Make a jump for Matteo" was a real success, gathering the entire Italian family of jumping and Nordic combined for a demonstration in support of a boy called to a difficult rehabilitation course. A splendid kermesse, organized by the Dolomites Sports Union with the collaboration of the Municipality of Predazzo, Nordic Ski Fiemme World Cup and many volunteers in the scenario of the "Stadio del Salto G. Dal Ben", the scene of a sports, entertainment and solidarity.
The entire proceeds of the evening and the donations made through the current account made available by the Cassa Rurale Val di Fiemme, will in fact be donated to the family of Matteo Antico; it is a concrete aid to support expensive physiotherapy treatments and to provide the boy with a lift. The community of Predazzo, along with that of the jump and the Nordic combined blue, responded to the great, aware of the fact that in situations like this you can not turn the other way. From this solidarity concept the success of "Make a leap for Matteo" is born, in a day opened by a greedy "Olympic snack" based on cakes and caterers of Tridentine Hospitality and games for the little ones on the inflatables and on the mini trampoline in wood mounted for the occasion in front of the plants that, in 2026, will host the jumping and combined Nordic tests of the Winter Olympic Games of Milan-Cortina.
Space then for an interesting and full of talk-show anecdotes on the theme "Olympics yesterday, today and tomorrow", moderated by speaker Paolo Mei, which was attended by former athlete and technical coach Fabio Morandini, the Nordic combined champion Alessandro Pittin, the former jumper predazzano Roberto Dellasega along with two young local promises like Iacopo Bortolas and Veronica Gianmoena. On this occasion it was also inaugurated in the presence, among others, of the mayor of Predazzo Maria Bosin, of the Councilor for Sport Giovanni Aderenti, of the Parish Priest of Predazzo Don Giorgio Broilo, of the President of the Committee Trentino F.I.S.I. Tiziano Mellarini and the Provincial Councilors Piero De Godenz and Gianluca Cavada, the HS66 trampoline, the last jewel of the Predazzo Salto Stadium that completes a system that is finally able to gradually accompany the growth of young jumpers from the HS20 up to the largest HS134.
The athletes of the Italian national jumping and combined Nordic team were obviously present, led by technical director Federico Rigoni, who along with many young people performed in a race with mixed teams on all the predazzani trampolines. The evening was enlivened by DJ sets and live MarketOne music in concert.
Roberto Brigadoi, President of the US Dolomitica, says he is "enthusiastic about the event, with a presence of residents and guests above expectations and a great satisfaction for the response that the people gave to the initiative. A dutiful thanks must be addressed to all those, and they are many, who in any way have contributed to making the evening unique ".
Present for the entire duration of the event, Matteo Antico received the embrace of all former Italian jumpers, gathered for the occasion by a group spaghetti student, and was able to view some exciting video messages on the big screen. he dedicated, sent by champions and characters of the caliber of Roberto Baggio, Noriaki Kasai, Alberto Tomba, Primoz Roglic, Marco Albarello, Kamil Stoch, Dorothea Wierer, Adam Malysz, Ryoyu Kobayashi, Gregor Schlierenzauer, Simon Ammann, Dawid Kubacki, Chicco Evani, Matteo Trentin, Maurizio Fondriest and many others.
Despite the difficulties, Matteo wanted to tell his story and publicly thank all the doctors and nurses who are helping him in his most challenging jump ever, to return to a life as normal as possible. One thing is certain: Matteo does not jump by himself.
