Farewell sweet "Malfi": Tarvisio and the whole FVG cry Mariano Malfitana

An enormous loss for the entire Italian cross-country skiing movement, for the community of Friuli Venezia Giulia and for “its” Tarvisio. At 70, Mariano Malfitana left us; financier, who arrived from Sicily to Tarvisio, he was immediately appreciated for his human qualities and more, also venturing into the organization of events, just remember the "Etna Marathon" that united the two lands he loved so much, Sicily and Friuli. Furthermore, “Malfi” was the manager of the fund at the 2003 Universiade in Tarvisio. A 360-degree sport lover, in recent years he had given his invaluable contribution to the Bachmann ski college and to the Regional Committee, of which he has been a point of reference also this season, which has seen him among other things among the main promoters of the Italian Students' Championship of Tarvisio held in mid-March. In no time, Covid took it away from all those people who loved it. Lots of kids who grew up and were growing up with him and who are mourning him now. It leaves a huge void in the Tarvisio community, as confirmed by the mourning post proposed on Facebook by the mayor Renzo Zanette, and in regional skiing, with Silvio Fauner himself who remembered him moved. The heartfelt condolences of the president of FISI FVG, Maurizio Dunnhofer, of the Board of Directors, of the cross-country sector and in general of all the FVG skiing have reached the family members.
