More than 650 athletes will be competing against the Carnia Arena International Biathlon Center in Forni Avoltri from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September as part of the Alpe Adria Summer Nordic Festival 2018, an international event that will award the summer national titles cross-country skiing and biathlon.

The event organized by ASD Monte Coglians, by the CAI Trieste Ski and sponsored by Promoturismo FVG, will bring in Carnia many champions, among which stand the Federico Pellegrino silver medalist at Pyeongchang 2018 and the biathletes Dominik Windisch, Lukas Hofer, Dorothea Wierer and Lisa Vittozzi bronze in the mixed relay always in the last Olympic edition. The rich weekend program of the Alpe Adria Summer Nordic Festival will open on Thursday 6 September with the official training sessions of the biathlon teams, while the first tricolor medals will be awarded starting from Friday 7 September in the discipline that combines cross-country skiing and the shooting at the polygon. According to the latest rumors of the eve, the most eagerly awaited female biathlon will be the sappy lady Lisa Vittozzi, an athlete who has grown agonistically right on the Piani di Luzza plant, which will hunt for the Mass Start and Sprint pair. Dorothea Wierer, the fifth in the overall World Cup standings, and Federica Sanfilippo both of the Fiamme Gialle Sports Group, will certainly be the most dangerous adversaries for the Carabinieri Sports Center. In the men's field great expectation for the challenge at the top between the two leaders of the Italian movement, Lukas Hofer back from an extraordinary final of the season, and Dominik Windisch authentic protagonist of the past Olympics where he has collected two bronze medals. Saturday 8 September there will be space for cross-country skiers who will compete in a FIS distance race at intervals. The children of cross-country skiing and skiroll in fact fall on the track in the early afternoon, after the biathletes in the morning will be given battle in the sprint test. The long-awaited protagonist of the cross-country races that will also have value for the Coppa Italia Sportful and the Coppa Giovani Giovani Rode will obviously be Federico Pellegrino, winner last year in Forni Avoltri of the national sprint title. The international event will see a large number of foreign athletes coming from all over Europe and even from far away Japan. Only on Saturday, September 8 will be set up at the entrance of the stadium a real sponsor village that will see the participation of companies in the sector, sponsors of the event but also some fans club.
