There will also be the US youth team at the start of the Italian Summer Championships for cross-country skiing and roller skiing scheduled for next weekend at the Carnia Arena International Biathlon Center in Forni Avoltri.

The young "stars and write" team led by Colin Rodger Agonistic Director of the Green Mountain Valley School, will present at the start of two days of international FIS competitions with as many as 8 athletes. The American team will field seven youngsters Trey Jones, David King, Aidan Burt, Kai Frantz, Brian Bushey, Carl Kellogg and TK Despres and a girl Charlotte Brown, all aged between 15 and 19 years.
The internationality and the right place in the calendar has done nothing but increase the attractiveness of the Alpe Adria Summer Nordic Festival of Forni Avoltri by the foreign nationals, who never like this year have decided to take part in this event that for three years ignites the Carnia Arena summers. Just two days after the registration deadline, in addition to the United States, 6 athletes from the Mongolian national team responded to Forni Avoltri chasing important FIS points in terms of qualifying for the Youth Olympics (YOG) scheduled for next February in Lausanne .
In addition to the welcome foreign participation, there will be all the protagonists of the cross-country skiing and the Italian roller ski starting with the champion Federico Pellegrino and his companion in the last Team Sprint world champion Francesco De Fabiani, both will go hunting for the third consecutive summer tricolor respectively in the sprint and in the individual. Attention also to the new skiroll world champions, Matteo Tanel and Francesco Becchis who could well figure in the shortest distance. Among women there will be more uncertainty with Greta Laurent, Ilaria De Bertolis and Lucia Scardoni ready to play the sprint test, while Elisa Brocard will aim to confirm the title won last year in the individual.
The rich program of the Alpe Adria Summer Nordic Festival weekend will open on the morning of Friday 6 September with the tests of the race skirolls made available this year by three Italian companies: Skiskett, Skiway and L''Ess.
Saturday, September 7 instead will be serious with the delivery of the Italian sprint titles. Starting from 09.30 am the boys of the Under 18 and Under 20 categories will battle, while in the early afternoon, at 14.30, instead the seniors will take to the track.
The two-day competition will end on Sunday 8 September with the distance tests. From 09.00 the youngsters of the Under 18 and Under 20 categories will be on the track, while the "big" will start at 11.15 am with the senior female race. These competitions as well as those sprints as well as assigning the Italian titles will guarantee the first seasonal points in the Italian Cup circuit and the Coppa Italia Giovani Rode of cross-country skiing.
In addition to the competitive aspect, the organizers have also thought of some outline activities. During the competition period a real sponsor village will be set up at the entrance of the stadium which will see the participation of companies in the sector, sponsors of the event but also some fan clubs and it will be possible to buy the much sought after Guru of Skiing gadgets.
Media coverage will be ensured by Neveitalia Media, the official partner of the event that from June 2017 guarantees the webcam service to the Federal Carnia Arena International Biathlon Center.
