The two Americans were imposed in the inaugural sprint classic technique of Frozen Thunder, currently underway in Canmore Canada.

Sprint, which were held in a special format, called knock-in, cos & igrave; follows: an initial qualification round where the individual is drawn one rankings for all the athletes, men and women, which are then divided into mixed batteries of 4 athletes each, in order of ranking. Subsequently there are two rounds of batteries, in which the first two athletes are promoted to the upper battery, while the last two relegated to the bottom. In & rsquo; s final round then another one in batteries of four we play the final placement.
Format innovative definitely allows further testing sprint athletes, since they are not immediately deleted, and which in theory allows however to athletes pi & ugrave; strong to emerge in the final result.
End result that was dominated by men Andy Newell compatriot Dakota Blackhorse-von Jess, winner of both the qualification that the first two batteries. Third & egrave; joint Swiss Mathias Inniger, the photo finish on Kris Freeman, while the fifth place if the & egrave; Devon Kershaw won, winner of the second battery.
Among women has clearly prevailed & rsquo; other American Ida Sargent, who because of the format is & egrave; found in a final battery with three men in the junior category. Times greater for all the other, with the second and third place of the Canadian Perianne Jones and Dahria Beatty. Fourth Heidi Widmer and only the fifth Jessica Diggins.
The competition will continue today with a 10km for women and 15km for men in freestyle and starting at intervals.
