The International Federation of Winter Sports has officially announced yesterday his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the verdict 13-month ban for Therese Johaug.

The Norwegian cross-country skier, found positive to Clostebol in a surprise inspection on September 16, he justified himself saying that he had accidentally taken the substance through the 'use of a cream, Trofodermin, to treat a burn injury to the lip. Doping Tribunal Norway last month welcomed partly excuses Therese Johaug considering it only guilty of not significant negligence and disqualified for 13 months, until 18 November 2017; a disqualification that would allow the Norwegian cross-country skier to participate in all the next season with the aim of Pyeong Chang Olympics.
At the time the verdict is the 'athlete is the Norwegian Olympic Committee had decided not to appeal and uncertain intentions of the other parties: the IOC, FIS and WADA. While the 'Therese Johaug lawyer let the disappointment of the Norwegian cross-country skier for this appeal, it remains to be seen whether even the WADA, which still has three weeks to decide, decide to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
