A total success, of participation and quality, organizational and technical for the great protagonists present, on the occasion of the thirty-year anniversary of the "Sgambeda", celebrated in Livigno with former World Cup athletes and amateurs together, on the 30 km free technique of a track wonderful.
At a competitive level, France triumphed, with Renaud Jay able to regulate compatriot Jean Marc Gaillard and Toni Livers, with the French who signed the encore in the women's event thanks to Celine Lallier Choppard, who preceded the Czech Klara Moravcova and a another Frenchwoman, Alicia Choron.
A day "stuck" between the Visma Ski Classics races, with the Pro Team Prologue and Sunday Livigno Prologue, with the long-awaited 35 km in classic technique. Returning to the "Sgambeda" on Saturday, it was a show with the presence, among others, of the Olympic gold and three-time world champion Nikita Kriukov, who finished in eighth place just in front of the skiroll's blue world champion, Matteo Tanel .
In thirty years of the Livigno classic, only in 2014 had he won a French, Benoit Chauvet; there is glory even for the senators, like Gelsomino Cusini who never missed one of the thirty editions, and candidly explained. "Being from Livigno, it is always an honor to compete here. I am fortunate never to have had a cold on the day of the Sgambeda ... ".
