Victory for ingvild flugstad østberg in the opening game of the third stage of the World Cup, on the slopes of Davos. In the 15 km skating, the 26 year old Gjøvik preceded Heidi Weng and Krista Pärmäkoski, which is confirmed as the main opponent of the Norwegians in distance races at the start of the season.

Østberg has set the fastest time at every intermediate, built in the early 2200 meters a lead of 7.9 seconds over Weng. He has slowly eroded the leadership of compatriot in the middle phase of the test, until it comes to a second and a half at the 8.2 km of the detection. Between the end of the second lap and the start of the last, however, Østberg has restored distances, expanding their margin up to 13 seconds at 12.2 km, and then close with 7.9.
In the final stretch, Weng has thus had to worry especially to defend second place from Pärmäkoski comeback. The Finnish, off by more than 16 seconds from the leader of the Cup to 7.2 km, it has recovered ten in the space of 2800 meters, before dropping slightly in the final round and close at 16.7 behind the winner and 8.8 Weng.
The three athletes on the podium have played a game apart from the competition. Jessica Diggins, fourth, has made Østberg than 54 seconds; already with fifth placed, Yulia Tchekaleva, it breaks through the barrier of minutes late.
Switzerland hostess was able to celebrate the best result in the career of Nathalie von Siebenthal, sixth after a flying start that has kept on the virtual podium for the first 3 km and 200 meters. Behind him Ragnhild Haga and Riitta-Liisa Roponen.
Also smiles Italy, thanks to ninth Ilaria Debertolis. With a comeback race, the 27-year-Fiamme Oro has improved, after less than three years, his best finish in the World Cup up to now a tenth place in Cortina-Dobbiaco 2014.

The trial was marked by two prominent absences home Norway: those of Astrid Jacobsen and Marit Bjørgen. Not entirely satisfied with the services offered in the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer, both have preferred to stay at home and prepare for the upcoming events.
Weng retains the championship lead of the World Cup, rising at an altitude of 539 points: 70 more than in Østberg, chasing at 469. Third Pärmäkoski (417), in front of Bjørgen (333) and Stina Nilsson (286), at rest today ahead of tomorrow's sprint.
