As often happens in women's competitions, the athletes took to the track without making calculations, starting from the beginning. At the transition to 2.4 km the decisive moment of the race. In the uphill stretch Johaug increases the frequencies, Andersson in the second position makes the hole and the Norwegian goes on the run.
Oestberg first and Pärmäkoski second try to close the gap but without success. At the change of ski and technique Johaug passes in fact with a margin of 15 ", which increases further in the second half of the race, in which he unleashes all his horses.
Behind the struggle for the remaining podium positions sees five athletes involved: Oestberg, Weng, Pärmäkoski, Andersson and Stadlober, with Nepryaeva and Niskanen slightly delayed.
In the final stretch Oestberg proves to have an exceptional state of form and after a determined attack on the uphill, a fantastic Teresa Stadlober and Ebba Andersson regulate the sprint.
