The ranking is elongated in the third lap when Sundby, Gløersen and Legkov have forfeited a margin of around fifteen seconds ahead of the competition. To be decisive, however, it was the fourth round: in the space of 2 km, between 20.2 and the 22.2, Sundby has put between himself and his compatriot an 8 second gap which would then slowly increased up to 13.7 registered on arrival; Legkov is rather drastically dropped, paving the way for Gløersen to the place of honor and reopening the battle for the lowest rung of the podium. This advantage is a result perhaps decisive for the last lap overtaking operated against Simen Andreas Sveen, however, the party with the bib number 7, long before the favorites, and thus completely devoid of references chronometric. The treasure accumulated in the first two thirds of the race allowed Legkov to arrest their descent in the standings in fifth position. Behind the Olympic champion of 50 km two very young: the 22 year old Jens Burman, the better of the Swedes, the best result ever in the World Cup, and the 21 year old Russian Alexey Chervotkin. Norway has confirmed its global supremacy by placing in the top ten also Hans Christer Holund, eighth, and the 23 year old Simen Hegstad Krüger, ninth.
