It was inevitable, but the decision came very late.
The cross-country skiing season ends here, without taking part in the World Cup sprints scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Quebec City, while the subsequent stages of Minneapolis and Canmore had already been canceled.
Many defections and teams returned home, so here is the organizing committee and FIS have raised the white flag. With Bolshunov and Johaug winners of the crystal balls, the conquest of the sprint cup by Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo is now official, while the only blue present in Canada, Federico Pellegrino (who was still playing on the podium in the specialty ranking) will have to return in the next few hours. And that too could be a problem.
