The organizing committee advised the teams not to make reservations for the youth world championship yet, due to the difficult situation in the Kainuu region.

Even the Junior World Championships in Nordic Skiing seem to be questioned by the pandemic.
The event, scheduled in Voukatti from 9 to 14 February, was confirmed a week ago; in the meantime, however, the epidemiological situation in the Kianuu region has rapidly worsened, which is why the local health authorities have been forced to check whether or not there is a chance for the event to take place safely.
The organizers of the youth world event have already alerted the various nations, inviting them to wait for a final decision, which will be taken on January 19, before booking air flights to Finland.
