Falla to work on endurance, but the goal remains the number one in their sprint in Lahti

After a memorable year, strong of eight victories in sprint races of the World Cup, equally divided between the two techniques, Maiken Caspersen Falla approaches the 2016/17 season as the woman to beat in the specialty. The plans of the Norwegian, however, go beyond the reaffirmation in their invitation to 'election.

"I intend to take part in many tests on distance. Last season I picked up three placings in the five in distance races, so I think it's a bit 'ungenerous classify me only as a sprinter. But it is true that so far only in the sprint I was able to win, "said the Olympic champion of Sochi. The Falla summer was marked by heavier workloads than ever before: "I insisted especially on things like balance and technique. I also worked a lot on endurance with longer sessions, up to one hour and 15 minutes. Last year, for comparison, the corresponding sessions were 45 minutes ". The main objective for next year, however, remains the favorite specialties: "If in Lahti were to get a medal in a distance race, I would be very happy. But my primary goal remains the world's gold in the sprint ". The 26 year old Fet has long been struggling with respiratory problems. A problem that did not give excessive red tape being prepared, but that might force her to limit the commitments during the season: "I will try to do all possible races, but I can not ignore my health problems. I will go anywhere. Therefore it will be important to make the most out where I can to be present. "
