As expected, Heidi Weng has handled smoothly, concluding in pursuit, the advantage gained in the first two acts of the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer, seizing the first success in the event.

The 25 year old from Ytre Enebakk started with a 20 second lead over the nearest opponent, ingvild flugstad østberg, and has in fact never given way to hopes of a comeback. The gap between the two has always fluctuated between 15 and 25 seconds, and soon Østberg has been forced to focus on the defense of second place.
Behind him oncoming fact not Marit Bjørgen, as forecast, but a wild Krista Pärmäkoski. Taken by a fifth, 38 seconds after Weng, the Finnish took just over 3 km to reach and spacing is Jessica Diggins, third match, is the same Bjørgen, fourth after two stages. It was therefore launched in pursuit of Østberg, acciuffandola during the second round and trying to pull it off before flying.
The challenge for the second place ended prematurely when Pärmäkoski, the last of the last downhill corner, slipped, paving the way to Norway. The day loot remains excellent: third place in the mini-tour and stage win. For Finland this is the second successful career in the World Cup, after that - in a similar format - caught in Canmore at the end of last season.
Half a minute later, Bjørgen finished in fourth place a test largely solitary. Fifth Stina Nilsson, author of a remarkable comeback from 27th position. The Swede has outdistanced in the last few hundred meters Yulia Tchekaleva, Maiken Caspersen Falla and Jessica Diggins, reached the finish line in that order between the sixth and eighth place. They completed the top 10 the second Finnish, Laura Mononen, and Ragnhild Haga.
The impressive roster of Weng ride is already worth a first extension in the overall World Cup: Norway, never off the podium so far this season, in fact controls with 459 points, against 369 of Østberg second. Follow Pärmäkoski (357), Bjørgen (333) and Nilsson (286).
