The quotas for each country are different from each distance races and sprint races. The basic criterion for determining the share of each country is the number of athletes capable of scoring points in the relative ranking of the World Cup (sprint or distance) from the previous season.

Every nation with 9 or more men to points in the previous World Cup specialties is entitled to 6 pecs.
Every nation with 6, 7 or 8 men in the points in the previous World Cup specialties are entitled to 5 pecs.
Every nation with 3, 4 or 5 men in points of the previous World Cup specialty is entitled to 4 pecs.
Every nation with 1 or 2 men to points in the previous World Cup specialties is entitled to 3 pecs.
Every nation without men to points in the previous World Cup specialties is entitled to 2 pecs.
In addition, the holders of the World Cup (absolute and specialty) are entitled to a place that adds to the nominal share of the respective country of origin.
The numbers established by the previous criteria are fixed in the'' arc of the season, but at the end of each period in which is divided the'' winter every country has the opportunity to obtain additional equity through the Continental Cup and the World Ranking List.
At the end of each period the leaders of the Continental Cup overall standings of the nine existing nominal gain the right to compete in the World Cup in the next period.
In addition, if a country has more than 6 athletes in the red group of the relevant discipline (distance or sprint), is entitled to additional pectoral: 7 men in the red group carry a contingent increase of a unit; 8 or more men in the group red is equivalent to an increase of the quota of two units. However, these additional seats can be occupied only by cross-country skiers in the group the same red.
The "red group" is composed of the best athletes of the thirty or Sprint Distance Ranking List Ranking List, or the rankings (updated after each period) that take account of points obtained by cross-country skiers in each race of the World Cup held in the previous twelve months to which are added a maximum of two results obtained in the large seasonal event (World Championships or Olympic Games).
As for the multistage tests, the share of each country is given by the sum of the quota for the distance races and half (rounded down) of the quota for the sprint.
Finally it should be mentioned the possibility for the host nation of any event of the World Cup to take advantage of the national share, or up to 10 athletes in sprint and distance test, and 5 athletes in the multistage tests.
Without this premise as long as we see in detail the pectoral available for each country for the first period of the World Cup. '' The order in which the countries are listed corresponds with the position occupied in the Nations Cup Men 2012 -'' 13.
