Iivo Niskanen makes a big voice to Muonio. Well Pellegrino in the sprint

In the FIS competitions staged on the Finnish snow, Iivo Niskanen excelled both in the 15 km in classic and in the 15 km in skating. Good 3rd place for '' Chicco '' Pellegrino in the TC sprint. Among the women victories of Gimmler, Nepryaeva and Parmakoski.

The three days of FIS races in Muonio have come to an end, a real starter of the new World Cup season, which will start on Friday 26 November from Finland, in Ruka. The sprints in classic were staged on Friday, where the wait to check the state of form of the spearhead of the blue team was quite a bit. Federico Pellegrino got an excellent 3rd place, beaten only by the Russians Sergey Ustiugov, winner of the race, and Alexander Terentev. Behind the other blue at the start, Francesco De Fabiani, only 37th. In the women's race, the German Laura Gimmler won, who won ahead of the hostess Anne Kyelloenen and the German Victoria Carl. The two Azzurri gave up for the distance races in the classic on Saturday, where the successes of Iivo Niskanen, who appeared very fit in these three days of competitions, and Natalia Nepryaeva arrived. The Finnish cross-country skier got the better of the Russian Alexey Chervotkin, at the end of a nice duel; 3rd Ivan Yakimushkin. For Neprayaeva, however, the victory came in front of compatriot Tatiana Sorina; third place for the German Victoria Carl, who was able to confirm the excellent result obtained in the sprint on Friday. The triptych of competitions ended on Sunday with distance skating trials. Pellegrino and De Fabiani finished away from the leading positions, respectively 22nd and 23rd, demonstrating a condition that is not yet optimal over long distances. Niskanen signed the double, ahead of the Russians Sergey Ustiugov and Alexey Chervotkin by a margin. In the women's 10 km triumph for the hostess Krista Parmakoski, who mocked Saturday's winner, Natalia Neprayaeva and an excellent Victoria Carl, also very much on the ball in these first seasonal outings. For the two big blues, therefore, a triptych with lights and shadows: Pellegrino proved to be on point in his specialty, the sprint, but with still some problems in the distance races; different story for De Fabiani, who still appeared rather packed by the workloads carried out in preparation. The form of the two Valle d'Aosta can only improve, hoping to be able to admire them battling for important results already from the Ruka opening, scheduled for Friday 26 November.
