The Federation of Austrian fund immediately sent home the 26 year old Melk Abbey. These are the words of Karl Stoss, president of the Austrian Olympic Committee: "We are shocked by this news, we will take immediate action as appropriate to the situation. The athlete was informed, his accreditation was removed and was immediately dropped from the team. Dürr has already begun the journey home. "
Dürr, who had already taken part in the Sochi skiathlon who inaugurated the program of the Olympic cross-country skiing men's closing eighth, had returned home to train, being tested surprise to Obertillach on February 16. He returned to Russia for his race, the 50 km today, received the nasty surprise. His is the fourth positive findings during these Olympics.
The positivity of Dürr, among other things, to a substance "obsolete" as the EPO, leaves some doubt on the results of this year, in what was arguably his best season in his career. The Austrian was in fact finished third in the Tour de Ski stage victory in getting the climb to Cermis, and proving very competitive in all competitions in skating.
