The results of the conference organized by the FISI: "Fundamental interchange to make a sector grow, athletes are always at the center of everything", the words of President Roda.

The Municipality of Bobbio (PC), with the collaboration of the FISI Federal Technical School, hosted the conference “The Italian fund towards the future” at the Abbey of San Colombano. In addition to the mayor Roberto Pasquali, the highest offices of Italian sport and winter sports took part in the day: the vice president of Coni, Claudia Giordani, the president of the FISI Flavio Roda, the vice president Pietro Marocco and the federal councilor Gabriella Paruzzi. In connection from Passo Lavazè, Federico Pellegrino also intervened, engaged in a rally, also present the technicians of the national teams.
The meeting in Bobbio marks the start of a new path for the national cross-country movement, both in the high level and in the base. The new technical cadres of the national teams, established a few months ago, are setting up a work that will have to bring the Italy of narrow skis in the best conditions to the Olympic appointment of next season in Beijing, but will have to lay the foundations for the overall growth of the movement in view of the Italian Games of Milan-Cortina 2026. The FISI President Flavio Roda has trusted the project presented by the new technical director, Alfred Stauder, and his collaborators, which has already brought some significant news. First of all, the collaboration with the Russian Federation and with the international coach Markus Cramer, who has been coaching a part of Team Russia for years. With Cramer, this summer, Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani, the two leaders of the blue movement, are also training, preparing the approach to the Chinese competitions next February. “We lived an important day - underlines the President Roda - Cross-country skiing deepens much more what scientific research is, but if there is no continuous exchange between technicians it is difficult to make a sector grow.
Today's teaching is to listen and understand what is best to help athletes, who remain at the center of everything. Recruitment remains the priority objective, the issues examined have been many and will need to be deepened, I hope that anyone who can give their contribution, put their experience at the disposal of the whole discipline. I thank all those who intervened, this conference laid the foundations for the future of cross-country skiing ".
"In modern sport, a structuring by the State is necessary - said the coordinator of the athletic preparation of the national teams, Enrico Perri - which allows adequate training not only for the athlete, but also for the entire staff, hence the need to optimize performance. Our attention is focused on the preparation of training through the activation of the organism, the improvement of flexibility and motor patterns through the prevention of injuries and tolerance to mechanical load. Hence the importance of monitoring the athlete's physical state, combined with a physiological assessment and training loads ".
Federico Pellegrino, on the other hand, took stock of the new training experience: “The project undertaken this year was possible thanks to the availability of the President Roda and the new technical director Alfred Stauder. By training together with the Russians and Germans we are implementing different training methods, the preparation is going well, it was a nice discovery especially living everyday life with another team, we discover a different way of working, certainly our experience is enriching. and allows us to have a different idea of what our world is, trying to understand where we can improve and how to work in the future to grow from a performance point of view.
Cramer is a coach with some experience and whom we knew, it was easy to put our trust in him, cultivating a human relationship and not just a working one ”. Cramer himself gave a speech that was particularly appreciated by the audience: the coach illustrated the working methods he used and on which bases his own principles of preparation are inspired: "But beyond the sporting element - he underlined the German coach - what really matters are the simplicity of doing things and the central role of the athlete, with whom the coach must be good at both coaching and listening to his every need ”.
