The Municipality of Bobbio, with the collaboration of the Federal Technical School of the FISI, are organizing a conference of international importance, which will be held on Sunday 29 August, starting at 11 am at the Abbey of San Colombano, in the town on the banks of the Trebbia.
Local authorities will be present, starting with the mayor Roberto Pasquali, and the highest officials of Italian winter sports: the vice president of Coni, Claudia Giordani, the President of the FISI Flavio Roda and the federal councilor Gabriella Paruzzi. The conference bears the title "The Italian fund towards the future", meaning that the meeting in Bobbio could mark the start of a new path for the national cross-country movement. President Roda has given confidence to the project presented by the new technical director, Alfred Stauder, and his collaborators, which has already brought some significant news. First of all, the collaboration with the Russian Federation and with the international coach Markus Cramer, who has been coaching a part of Team Russia for years. Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani, the two leaders of the blue movement, also train with Cramer this summer.
But Stauder's project aims to start with young people to guarantee the future of cross-country skiing, a discipline that has brought so many laurels to the federal bulletin board, and which now needs a relaunch. Above all, there is a great opportunity for the national movement thanks to the Milan-Cortina Games, which will have to serve as an engine to bring to the international limelight the talents that Italy has already begun to raise in recent years and that they performed well in youth events ”.
