The two big Norwegian cross-country skiers, during an interview with '' VG Sporten '', said they were worried about the future of young Norwegian sportsmen, who, due to restrictions, have not yet resumed their activities.

"I come from Meraker, a country where there have been two infections and you can't yet play football. This winter you couldn't ski: I don't understand the reason for this strictness by the government." - Emil Iversen, winner of the last 50 km world championship in Oberstdorf, expressed all his discontent about the situation in which Norwegian sport finds itself due to the pandemic.
Also his compatriot Johannes Klaebo of the same opinion: "Honestly I don't understand the lack of will to restart sport and competitions. Young athletes have suffered a lot from this forced stop, we have to start again."
The two Norwegian cross-country bearers (winners of five gold medals in total at the last World Championships in Oberstdorf), interviewed by "VG Sporten", aroused all their concern that thousands of young Norwegian athletes are unable to practice sport for over a year. "For a young person, staying still a year is a big problem for his sporting growth. - thundered Klaebo - To see in the future new Haaland or new Johaug, the solution is only one: the restart of the basic sport."
"I don't understand the reason for all this prudence on the part of the government. In our country, infections have been rather limited; nations like the United Kingdom and Denmark have restarted grassroots sport towards the end of March, with us amateur football has been stopped for almost fifteen months. The Norwegian government has set June 17 as the date for the resumption of grassroots sport, when the vaccination campaign will begin to bring excellent results, allowing the lifting of other restrictive measures.
