The medical case Johaug self-suspended from positions in the CIO

Fredrik Bendiksen, the doctor who prescribed the Trofodermin Therese Johaug, has decided at this time to self-suspend him from the two positions held within the International Olympic Committee.

Dr. Bendiksen has so resigned as chair of the Conference on the Prevention of Accidents and Diseases in Sport, as well as that of the organizing committee of advanced courses for doctors who aspire to enter the staff of national teams. An IOC spokesman said "Fredrik Bendiksen is self-suspended on both roles, waiting for the investigation concerning it progresses." Further confirmation came from a legal doctor, Jørgen Stålhane. Bendiksen had previously resigned from his post in the Norwegian cross-country national. It seems determined to continue his work at the Research Centre on the Oslo Sports Trauma, who helped found. The Director Roald Bahr hoped that Bendiksen "continues to provide an important contribution to the Center, helping to consolidate its position as world leader in the field of sports medicine."
