In the last hours the name of Maxim Vylegzhanin is over the center of a controversy following his participation in the days of 7 and 14 January, to dell''Udmurtia regional championships.

As is known the thirty-four, the reigning world champion of the skiathlon, was suspended by the FIS following the opening of un''indagine on him (and five other Russian cross-country skiers) to verify the charges contained in the McLaren relationship.
The suspension entails, of course, the 'inability to show up at the start of any race organized by FIS or by entities affiliated to it.
As mentioned, in the last two Vylegzhanin weekend he took part (winning) a 15 km and one skiathlon went on stage in his native Udmurtia (one of the republics that make up the Russian Federation).
The fact, reported by a Russian magazine, has sparked controversy. Especially supermoralisti of 'transatlantic suffered shrieked the scandal, as in Russia has allowed an athlete suspended for alleged doping to compete anyway.
Yet the situation is a bit '' more complex. The races did not fall under the 'auspices Fis and even below that of the Russian ski federation (FLGR). The competitions were in fact organized dall''entità Federal del''Udmurtia Regional.
Here lies the snag. The 'interpretation of who was outraged is as follows: "The' regional entities dell''Udmurtia is part of the Russian Federation, which is part of the FIS. So Vylegzhanin could not compete." The opposite view is that the races were not organized by FLGR, but from a lower level, and that therefore there is no link with the FIS.
For its part, the person concerned said they had asked their Russian ski federation if it were possible to take part in competitions and have received the green light. A fact confirmed by the president Yelena Välbe.
Anyway, the FIS called for a clarification to FLGR, who promptly sent it, reiterating what has already been stated precisely by Valbe.
The 'correct interpretation is probably in the Russian Federation laws, which undoubtedly will adjust its shape and relations with regional authorities.
Waiting for an answer, it is worth asking the Americans Torquemada why what happened with Vylegzhanin is so outrageous, while some time ago there was nothing wrong nell''ipotesi to see Justin Gatlin (the sprinter disqualified - not suspended - for doping) committed nell''NFL (the football national championship) and was banned from athletics tracks ...
