The King of Sweden on boring Vasaloppet

The appointment with the biggest cross-country skiing race is not long and the Swedish king has decided to season the wait by declaring his love and hate to the race between fascination and boredom.

On 3 March the magnificent Vasaloppet will be staged, which in its 90 km will give emotions but above all the prestigious victory of this ski marathon. The King of Sweden, Carlo XVI Gustavo, is not entirely in agreement. As usual, the event on TV will not be lost. This time, however, he launched a curious message "La Vasaloppet is really boring". The race is inspired by the ski escape of the future King Gustavo Vasa by the tyrant Christian II and the conquest of the Swedish kingdom in 1520. The event is staged since 1922 is the oldest race of cross-country skiing but also the one with more participants that this year will count 60000 athletes at the start during the week of competitions. The Swedish royal family is at the World Championships of Are to cheer and motivate the team of Alpine skiing will continue then going for the same reason to Seefeld on the occasion of the World Cross-Country Skiing. The King of Sweden in Are at the microphones of SVT sport has re-launched the charm of the race but also pointing out that it will be difficult to get passionate about the race totally. "Actually, it's really boring. Vasaloppet is the most boring thing there is, really. Nothing is happening. Only the last kilometers will start to come alive. "It seems to be a love and hate that of King Carlo who continues adding" But there is something under the surface that is fascinating, that's why you have to be there to watch ". So with these prospects the Vasaloppet 2019 will really be watching who knows that last year's winner Nygaard does not want to amaze everyone and allow himself the double with an epic escape, or simply will attend a boring race with a winner in the final sprint after the 90000 thousand routes.
