The Futura Team celebrates 40 years of history: in Trentino a unique reality of its kind

"We are a big family united by a passion for cross-country skiing": the words of President Buttaboni and the many guests present at the event.

Athletes of the present, champions and personalities of the past and the future to come: the Futura Alta Quota Trentino Team celebrated its first 40 years of glorious history on Saturday 14 May in the splendid location of Villa Ciani Bassetti in Lasino, in Trentino. Forty years of passion for sport, in particular for cross-country skiing and roller skiing, 40 years of sharing, family and solid friendships, the history of the yellow-fluo team seems endless. At the pleasant gala evening there were 150 guests and in the enchanting outdoor garden the president of FISI Trentino, Tiziano Mellarini, the FISI councilor Marco Zoller, Giuseppe "Sepp" Chenetti, head of the Nordic disciplines and technical consultant, took the floor. former member of the team in the 90s, the provincial councilor Pietro De Godenz, Paola Mora, president of CONI Trento, and Enrico Coser, main sponsor of Team Futura. "The idea of organizing a party was already planned at the beginning of 2020, but with the pandemic everything changed - says the president Andrea Buttaboni - We wanted above all for a question of sharing: we are a big family united by a passion for skiing cross-country skiing and for sport in general. It had been two years that the team hadn't spent time together in a carefree way, and Saturday was a moment of freedom and it all happened in the most natural way possible. It was nice to see 50 athletes present - out of about 75 total members - exchanging anecdotes and remembering the good times we passed together. There are a lot of funny anecdotes to tell - continues Buttaboni - a fresh one that Olivo Desilvestro told me is when we were at the 24h of Pinzolo in the '80s with the first Italian team competing; the athletes turned for an hour each and you could rest in the camper and some athletes made the wrong exhausted camper in the middle of the night, in the camper of strangers ... Or the big laughs we had with Cristian Zorzi and Mirko Filippi in the early 80s, when we had many young boys aged 6 to 14 who were part of the roller ski team, we traveled a lot in Italy. and even abroad, some moments never set ”. Many stories to tell are the athletes of the past Olivo Desilvestro, Sergio Morandini, Attilio Dellagiacoma and Friedrich Noeckler, the latter one of the longest-lived athletes of the team for 38 years. Also present were Luigi Turri, athlete and then adviser of the team since 1981, and Eugenia Bitchougova, the Russian naturalized Italian cross-country skier, winner of the Marcialonga in 1995 and several times winner of the Gran Fondo Val Casies and Dobbiaco-Cortina. A thought was also addressed to Roberto Sartori, the founder of Team Futura and a great friend, who passed away last year at the age of 71. Thanks to them, Fausto Filippi, Bernardo Trabalzini, Silvano Berlanda and their unbridled passion for sport and for cross-country skiing, roller skiing and cycling, Team Futura began its long journey back in 1981. The evening continued inside the splendid villa, with great applause for the pastry chef Sergio Berlanda who prepared the delicious cake, and for the chef Stefano Bertoni, who is also passionate about sports. “The party - concludes Buttaboni - was a point of arrival and departure for our team, which is already getting to work for next season. Now we feel a great responsibility, the foundations are there and we will do our best not to disappoint expectations. Of course, it will not be an easy task, but the conditions for doing well are there and this is the important thing. I thank the sponsors who have supported these first 40 years of the team's history and in particular Enrico Coser who with the Futura Graphics gave the new name to the team in 2014 and has become the longest-running synergy in the history of the Lavisan sports group with 18 years. of collaboration ". “Futura” promises well and is a good omen: it is in fact also the name of the logo chosen to represent the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics. The future begins today.
