The seventeenth edition of the now traditional DJ cross-country skiing event will start in Switzerland tomorrow, Saturday 31 December. The totem of blue cross-country skiing, Federico Pellegrino, is already aiming for a great result in tomorrow's sprint, as he declared to the FISI microphones.

Everything is ready for the 2023 Tour de Ski: tomorrow morning, Saturday 31 December, the seventeenth edition of the Tour de Ski will start from Val Mustair. At 11:30 the women's qualifiers will start, while at 12:25 it will be the turn of the men; the knockout stages will start from 2 pm.
The first to start the women's race will be the German Laura Gimmler; number 6 for the first Italian in the race, Caterina Ganz. Number 7 for one of the favourites, the Swedish Maja Dahlqvist, number 9 for the landlady Nadine Faehndrich, back from two consecutive sprint victories. Bib 11 for the Finnish Krista Parmakoski, 15 for the American Jessie Diggins; number 19 the yellow bib Tiril Weng. The second blue at the start will be Nicole Monsorno, bib number 40, number 55 for the newcomer Federica Sanfilippo, followed by Martina Di Centa. Anna Comarella will start with number 62, Cristina Pittin with number 63.
At 12:25 the men's qualifications will start, opened by the Austrian Benjamin Moser (bib number 1). With the number 6 the first blue in the race, Francesco De Fabiani, bib number 11 for Federico Pellegrino, ready for another breathtaking duel with Johannes Klaebo (17), numbers 13 and 15 for the French Richard Jouve and Lucas Chanavat; 19 for Norwegian Paal Golberg. The other Azzurri in the race: Simone Mocellini will start with number 22, Mikael Abram with number 40, Davide Graz with number 41, 53 for Giovanni Ticco, number 67 for Elia Barp, 80 for Giandomenico Salvadori, 92 for Paolo Ventura and 99 for Dietmar Noeckler .
''Chicco'' Pellegrino spoke to the official channels of the FISI, in view of tomorrow's debut: "We found a nice slope - he says after the finishing training -, well prepared and wide, with a critical point in the descent , a sort of demanding "S". I've always felt good here, the sensations are good and my head is free, I'm ready to fight. The track is located at an altitude of 1800 meters but it's not a problem, it's just a element to manage. As for the ambitions for the classification, I say that the Tour de Ski is tackled stage by stage. With a calendar of this type, there are some races that suit me, even if I can't honestly say what the my level overall in terms of general classification. I will certainly give my best to get as far forward as possible, aiming straight for Cermis".
