Summer is upon us and the snow is only a memory of the winter that has just passed, but for the Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo it is already time to think about the future, precisely on 5 and 6 February 2022, for what will be the 45th edition of the ski-marathon that will once again unite the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno.
The organizing committee chaired by Herbert Santer, in fact, is already working to continue the path built in the 45-year history of the granfondo, with the opening of registrations which has officially taken off for its first phase. An unrepeatable opportunity to ski along the “Ferrovia delle Dolomiti” which once connected the South Tyrolean town of Dobbiaco to the Venetian one of Cortina, offering glimpses of immeasurable beauty. Along the 42 km of Saturday to be covered in classic technique and the 32 km of Sunday in free technique, you can admire suggestive naturalistic views, from the area of the Dobbiaco military airport, starting point, to the Nordic Arena, passing through Lake Landro and the “Vista Tre Cime”, a splendid balcony on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, but also the Cimabanche Pass and the entrance to the village of Cortina.
In short, there will really be something for all tastes and conditions to experience a fantastic day of sports immersed in nature between Dobbiaco and Cortina there is certainly no shortage, with the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to act as a natural setting for the historic event. . To book a bib for the Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo you will need to fill in the online form, choosing your starting group yourself. The participation fee will have to be paid which, until 30 June, will be particularly advantageous thanks to the convenient rates called "early bird": for 65 euros you can start the race in classic technique on Saturday 5 February, while with 45 euros we will meet at the starting line of the race in free technique on Sunday.
