Klaebo worried about the pandemic: certainly forfeit for the stages of Davos and Dresden

The Norwegian cross-country skier, after the two consecutive victories in the "Ruka Nordic", expressed his concerns about the many trips abroad necessary during the whole season.

Johannes Klaebo, leader of the general classification of the Cross-country Skiing World Cup, has announced that he will give up competing in the Swiss stage of Davos and the German one in Dresden; the reason? The fear of being able to contract Covid-19. The Norwegian champion declared that he is very worried about the current situation and, at the moment, prefers to avoid trips abroad, which would make him come into contact with new and, therefore, potentially contagious people. He also admitted that the triptych of races held on Finnish soil confirmed his idea, which had already been created in March, about how risky it is to compete today. This is not the first stop due to concerns related to Covid-19 in Norway: on Sunday Heidi Weng did not leave in the chase as a precaution. From Klaebo's words we understand how he himself is very worried; and it can be deduced that his absence from the maximum circuit, if the situation does not improve, could not be limited only to the two stages mentioned above. The Cross-Country Skiing World Cup risks losing one of its protagonists for some time, it will be a situation to be followed very carefully.
