Fis would have asked the Tas to exclude Johaug from PyeongChang 2018. She: "I wait for the sentence"

Today's day at the Tas of Lausanne was a long-awaited hearing on the case of Therese Johaug, disqualified for 13 months by his Olympic Committee following the Clostebol's positivity, contained in a cream against burns.

The judgment given by the Norwegian Olympic Committee was considered to be congruent by Cio and Wada. Not from Fis, who has appealed to the Arbitration Tribunal, holding the punishment too lenient. "It was tough and painful, but in the end it turned out to be an important experience," said the twenty-nine-year-old to Nrk's microphones. "I had the butterflies in my stomach before this hearing because I had no idea how it would take place. Many have passed before me, so I knew it would be difficult. On the emotional level it was complicated to revive everything again. I have been asked many questions, but now I'm happy to have left this appointment behind, so I can focus on the future. " The athlete's lawyer, Christian Hjort, explained that the FIS has called for the sanction to be "appropriately". To extinguished microphones it would have added that the international federation would want a disqualification of between 16 and 20 months. In other words, FIS believes that Johaug should not participate in the Pyeong Chang 2018 Olympic Games. "Now we have to wait for the verdict. I've been in uncertainty for 8 months so I think I can continue to do it for a few weeks." At the moment, according to the 13 months of disqualification issued by the Norwegian Olympic Committee, Johaug could go back to compete on 18 November. They should be confirmed by the Tas, then the Scandinavian could take part throughout the season 2017 - '18. An extension of 14 months would be acceptable, as it would prevent them from participating in the first part of the agonistic season, but would have all the time to qualify for the Olympic Games. A 15-month raise would make it all problematic in Olympic optics, as Therese would have one single race to pull off the Korea pass, the 10 km alternate of Planica on January 21st. Finally, a disqualification of 16 or more months would represent the tombstone on the chance to take part in Pyeong Chang 2018. It is not clear when the sentence will be published, but the window is between the end of July and the beginning of September.
