The German federation of cross-country skiing has announced fifteen of the twenty names of the athletes who will compete in Sochi.

Russia will officially eight men and seven women. The five seats still available will be announced in the coming days. This is the complete list: Women ANGER Lucia (1991) BÃ–HLER Stefanie (1981) FESSLE Nicole (1983) HERRMANN Denise (1988) KOLB Hanna (1991) NYSTAD Claudia (1978) Katrin Zeller (1979) Men ANGERER Tobias (1977) BING Thomas (1990) Dotzler Hannes (1990) EISENLAUER Sebastian (1990) Filbrich Jens (1979) Axel Teichmann (1979) TSCHARNKE Tim (1989) WENZL Josef (1984) There are no surprises striking, as these fifteen boys are those who have met the minimum requirements imposed by Frank Ullrich early in the season to qualify for the Olympics. Axel Teichmann will thus defend won two silver medals in Vancouver (50 km sprint and team with Tim Tscharnke), while Claudia Nystad, returned after almost four years, particularly in view of Sochi, will defend the'' gold in the team sprint (captured along with Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle, meanwhile switched to biathlon) and the'' silver in the relay (in the company of the aforementioned Sachenbacher Stehle, Miriam Gossner and Katrin Zeller).
