The first medals d & rsquo; gold cross-country skiing, assigned in the distance classic technique, were won by two Norwegians, Mars M & aelig; hlum Johansen among girls and Petter Stakston among boys.

Among women Mars M & aelig; hlum Johansen, seventeen of & Ø stre Toten, won the medal & rsquo; gold in the 7.5 km classic technique ahead of 4 & rdquo; 5 the Russian Lidia Durkina, silver, and 13 & rdquo; 3 the German Katherine Sauerbrey, bronze. Fourth place for a & rsquo; other Norwegian Martine Lorgen & Ø verbust, while the Russian Polina Nekrasova, concluded in fifth position. Good race of the three Italian participants: the best & egrave; Anna Comarella seventh, Cristina Pittin ends tenth while Martina Bellini & egrave; thirteenth.

Norwegian triumph even in the 10 km classic technique male: l & rsquo; gold goes to Petter Stakston, beating 9 & rdquo; 1 compatriot Herman Martens Meyer, silver. The bronze finish at the neck of the German Janosch Brugger, trailing by 17 & rdquo; 0. Among the top five also l & rsquo; Ukrainian Andriy Orlyk, class of 1998, so a year pi & ugrave; young compared to the three medalists, and the Finn Aleksi Parttim & auml ;. Less restrictive the three bluish than women: the best & egrave; Marcello De Martin White seventeenth, Mattia Armellini ends twenty-second and twenty-fourth Nicola Castelli.
