Lampic and Kl bo celebrate in the Sprint of Val di Fiemme, a super Lucia Scardoni fifth

Waiting for the grand finale on Cermis, this morning in the Val di Fiemme the penultimate stage of the 2019/20 Tour de Ski was staged. In the classic Sprint the surprise protagonist was Lucia Scardoni, 5th on the finish line.

In the women's field the victory went to the Slovenian Anamarija Lampic, already winner of this Tour de Ski in the Lenzerheide Sprint, who had the best of Astrid Jacobsen and Jessica Diggins on the final straight. Sadie Maubet Bjornsen 4a and Lucia Scardoni ended up at the foot of the podium, excellent 5th after a superb day. Natalia Nepryaeva, who fell early in the final, finished 6th. Scardoni, after having printed the second half in qualifying, had to face a prohibitive battery with Nepryaeva, Diggins and Johaug. Without any reverential fear, however, he led the head race from start to finish and centered access to the semifinal. Once entered among the best twelve, the blue took our taste and, using a very fast battery, entered the final with the second repechage time, putting Jonna Sundling and Therese Johaug behind. Together with the leader of the Tour de Ski, Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg and Heidi Weng were also eliminated. Among the men Johannes KlÃ¦bo, supported by impressive materials, beat Sergey Ustiugov and Alexander Bolshunov in the sprint. With today's victory the Norwegian has conquered the primacy in the Tour de Ski, where he now has a second margin on the young Russian. Federico Pellegrino, Stefan Zelger and Maicol Rastelli were eliminated in battery.
