Mourning in the Finnish Fund: Mona-Liisa Nousiainen dies at the age of 36

Finnish cross-country skier Mona-Liisa Nousiainen, born Malvalehto, died of cancer at the age of 36. The news was confirmed this morning by the Twitter account of the Finnish National Ski Team.

Born in Rovaniemi, Nousiainen picked up two World Cup wins in her career, closed in the spring of 2018: the individual Sprec in Liberec's classic technique in January 2013 and the Team Sprint the following month paired with Anne Kylloenen in Sochi. In 2014 he participated in the Sochi Olympics closing the Sprint in free technique in twenty-eighth position while in the four editions in which he participated in the World Championships he was twice classified, Oberstdorf 2005 and Val di Fiemme 2013, in seventh place always in an alternating Sprint . Mon-Liisa Nousiainen leaves her husband Ville, also a Finnish cross-country skiing national, and a nine-year-old daughter.
