Marcialonga: race confirmed for January 27th

Despite the bad weather caused heavy damages both in Val di Fiemme and in Val di Fassa, the organizing committee has confirmed that the 46th Marcialonga will go on stage on January 27, as scheduled.

Probably the competition will be held on the distance of 67 kilometers instead of the 70 expected. After a careful technical analysis, the organizing committee decided not to cancel the ski marathon, which is very important on a sporting level but also on an economic level for the entire community of the area. Because of the storm, many sections of the track no longer exist but will be recovered. The first restoration works have already started and snowmaking will start as soon as possible. The only irrecoverable part for the moment is the segment of the track back from Molina to Cascata, which has been completely swallowed up by Avisio. It is precisely for this reason that the Marcialonga will be shortened by 3 km and the turning point will be set up at Maso Novelli. The 7500 members can therefore be quiet, the race will be almost in its entirety.
