The two boyfriends said yes to Gressoney St-Jean this morning, a year behind their original plans, upset by the advent of the pandemic.

Skis raised to the sky by friends and teammates: this is how the newlyweds, Federico Pellegrino and Greta Laurent, were welcomed at the exit from the church of St-Jean.
The wedding of the most famous couple in blue cross-country skiing, therefore, after a year of postponements due to the pandemic, was celebrated by the parish priest of Gressoney St-Jean, Ugo Casalegno. The marriage proposal had arrived on May 24, 2019, when Pellegrino, new holder of the sprint cup), had chosen Lake Orta to ask Greta to marry him. Subsequently it was the twenty-nine year old native of Ivrea to formalize the marriage, with a post on Facebook.
The ceremony should have been held on 6 June 2020, with a consequent reception in grand style at the Castel Savoia, but the pandemic has ruined the plans of the two betrothed. "The desire to get married was too great, we couldn't wait any longer. The ceremony will be a little more restricted, but that's okay: as soon as we can we will organize a big party with all the friends." - Laurent had declared to "Gazzetta Matin" last week.
So another happy extra-sporting news for the world of Italian winter sports, after yesterday's ex-skiers Manuela Moelgg and Werner Heel became parents of little Ben.
