A start with no success for the blue expedition to the Junior World Championships in Lahti.

In the classic men's sprint the Italian Under20 Stefano Dellagiacoma stopped in the semifinal, finishing ninth. The other Italians are Davide Graz 14th, Riccardo Bernardi 38th and Giovanni Ticco 40th.
In the women's test out of the final Nicole Monsorso who brings home an eleventh place. He stops at the quarters Rebecca Bergagnin 30th, while Valentina Maj closes 39th and Noemi Glarey 46th.
To win the first title in the men's category was the Russian Alexander Terentev (3: 26.33), who won by dominating the final with a gap of almost 3 seconds on the Norwegian couple behind him. Second place for Ansgar Evensen (3: 29.21) in front of his compatriot Haakon Skaanes (3: 29.22) arrived at the photo finish.
In the women's sprint triumphant is the Norwegian Kristine Stavaas Skistad (3: 23.12) in front of the Polish Monika Skinder (3: 23.75), third place won by the Finnish Anita Korva (3: 23.83).
