Lahti World Cup 2017: published the qualification criteria for the Italian cross-country skiers

FISI has announced, yesterday, the qualification criteria for the World Cup in Lahti (February 22-March 5) for Italian cross-country skiers.

As for the free technique sprint, sar & agrave; need to collect, in the World Cup races in the same format that will precede the World Championships (including stages of multi-stage tests), results which meet at least one of these requirements: A. A placement in the top five. B. Two placings in the top ten. C. Three placings in the top fifteen. For those under 25 they are considered sufficient a top-ten or two in the first fifteen. The qualifying criteria for classical technique distance race (10 km for women, 15 for men) are quite similar, even in reference to the Under-25. slightly different goes for the skiathlon (15 km to the female, 30 male), where you will take into account the results obtained in the same format, both in distance races of the same length in one of two techniques. The placings required remain the same, cos & igrave; as sufficient requirements only to Under-25. Athletes who, last season, have achieved podium finishes in the format of the World program are gi & agrave; qualified for the races in question. Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani have thus gi & agrave; acquired the right to participate, respectively, to sprint and 15 km. The selection for the relay events, the team sprint, the 30 km and 50 km TL female male TL will be at the discretion of the technical staff, which will be able & agrave; also make more choices on the basis of its assessments, also for other competitions.
