Taking note of the controversy aroused by the use of nebulizers to treat asthma, the Norwegian medical staff had suggested the possibility of renouncing it for Beitostølen races. At the end, it has opted for a compromise solution: nebulizers will be used, but only for saline solutions, not for anti-asthmatic drugs.

The decision was communicated by the Director Vidar Løfshus to NRK, during one of the many appointments with the press organized in view of the first races of the season: "We will use nebulizers to administer saline solutions, not for the anti-asthmatics. Athletes who want to use them to take other medications, by prescription, will talk with the doctors and decide how to deal with them. "
The practice has also recently been the subject of criticism in the same Norway, but Løfshus confirmed the line taken by the team for some time, noting that doing so does not break any rules.
Like the rest of the environment norge, also the director of national teams welcomed the preliminary response of the commission to investigate the issue. The panel of five international experts did not in fact ravvisato serious irregularities in the conduct of the Norwegians.
"We will wait, however the final results, in January, to make any corrections to our policy," he said Løfshus, which has delegated additional clarification from the national team doctor Petter Olberg, arriving tomorrow in Beitostølen.
