Oberstdorf 2021, Hagstroem and Klaebo in front of everyone in the sprint qualifiers, excellent 3rd time for '' Chicco '' Pelleg

Sweden got off to a strong start, placing three athletes among the top five in the women's qualification. Four Italians qualify for the final stages! Among the men Johannes Klaebo proves perky immediately placing himself in front of everyone; well Federico Pellegrino, who found good sensations in view of the final stages. Rastelli and De Fabiani also qualified in Italy. At 11.30 we start to get serious with the knockout stages.

With the qualifications of the sprint in classic technique, the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf 2021 have come to life. Swedish Johanna Hagstroem signed the fastest time among women, ahead of Norway's Miaken Falla and Finland's Johanna Matintalo. Slightly behind Linn Svahn, winner of four sprints this season, and the new winner of the specialty cup, the Slovenian Anamarija Lampic. There was some important lack of qualification: the Swiss Nadine Faehndrich, who could be considered a luxury outsider, missed the qualification for '' 1 "7, as did the American Rosie Brennan; out also the recent junior world champion: the Monika Skinder from Poland. All the Italians in the competition qualify for the knockout stages, even if three with the thrill. The best was Greta Laurent, who signed the 18th time; Lucia Scardoni, Caterina Ganz and Nicole Monsorno, on the other hand, occupied the last three places available to qualify. In the men's test Johannes Klaebo got off to a strong start, overtaking his compatriot Erik Valnes by over three seconds. Immediately behind our Federico Pellegrino, author of a convincing test, which allowed him to mark the 3rd time in view of the final stages, where he will go hunting for a medal. Few surprises among the excluded: the only name, who surprisingly missed the top thirty positions, was the Swiss Valerio Grond (36th, more than three seconds from the time limit to qualify). Very good Maicol Rastelli, who qualified with the 21st time (despite his time being very late due to timing problems); first thirty positions also grabbed by Francesco De Fabiani, the Aosta Valley scored the 24th time. Out, on the other hand, the world champion Simone Mocellini (50th). Appointment at 11:30, when the knockout stages with the first heats will start. The focus will be mainly on '' Chicco '' Pellegrino, who will try to win a sensational medal in classical technique, despite the strong competition from Norwegians and Swedes.
