Olsson: I never trained a lot

Return in the team of the World Cup after a season devoted to the long distances, Johan Olsson responded immediately present in Bruksvallarna races. About, according to the Swedish veteran, an intensive preparation than ever before.

"I was able to stay healthy," said Olsson, "and in the fall I trained more than I had ever done. I put together always at least 70-80 hours a month of training, and in October I exceeded 100. Throughout the year, I have exceeded 1000 hours. In the past, I had come to a maximum of 800 ". Two-time Olympic champion in the relay has admitted to having had doubts about their ability to return to competitive at the highest levels, but stated to have dispelled any doubts by the end of May. Olsson is clearly satisfied with the outcome of the general Bruksvallarna test, while admitting to have perhaps unfortunate in terms of the effort: "It seemed to go at reasonable pace, but one lap from the end I started to have doubts ". The 36-year old world champion of 15 km CT gallantly added that, if he had not had the visual reference of Marcus Hellner before him, the tight match against compatriot "would probably become even tighter." Less satisfied with the runner, and not only for the narrow defeat: "I do not know if such a benefit is sufficient to meet the highest internationally," said Hellner.
